Sustainable + Ethical Brands for Curvy Women
I love all of the brands I feature but, unfortunately, not all of them offer a wide range of larger sizes for curvier women so here is a special post just for my curvier ladies that want to shop sustainably and look fabulous.
Girlfriend gained popularity after their free legging facebook campaign but have now expanded to offer leggings, bras and tops. Their leggings are made out of recycled plastic water bottles and their website gives you all the details about how and where they are manufactured; you aren't left with questions about their supply chain. They offer an array of beautiful earth toned colors from size XXS to XXXL at prices that won't break the bank.
When it comes to online vintage, Golden Bird Boutique is one of my favorite shops. It is immaculately curated with beautifully eccentric pieces. Their items aren't always modeled on curvier women but they offer a wide range of sizes and are careful to detail them, so be sure to closely read the item description. They have some steals on pieces that are sure make you feel like the boss you are.
If you are looking for a more androgynous clothing line, the menswear inspired brand, Kirrin Finch is for you. They offer a range of button up shirts, bow ties and pants, menswear styles redesigned to fit women. They are dedicated to sustainable production and offer up to size 18.
Although their entire line is not offered in all sizes, HACKWITH Design House offers a beautiful plus sized collection ranging up to size 28. Their clothes are handmade in a light filled studio in Minnesota. Their small batch process means the price point is a little higher but their lux fabrics and timeless designs are definitely worth saving up for.
Zellie for She is definitely pushing the edge of fashion for curvier women. Their newest collection features a range of statement faux fur coats and effortless maxi dresses. They offer sizes 1X-3X. While their focus is not explicitly on sustainability they are made locally in Los Angeles.
